Well, It is September 16th. I am going to get better at putting up postings more often! This is all new to me still! Exciting, but new! We started school just over a month ago! Wow a month already! Time flies!
Beginning Day 2, for the first two weeks, we focus on colors, shapes, procedures and routines. Everyday is a different color. We center them around the
Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? book by Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle. We have student books based on the Brown Bear book and each day we color a page of the book. Then we read another story or two and do an activity. I am working on getting a whole color days packet together to be available on TPT.

Day 4: Blue Day
Story:
Pete the Cat by James Dean and Eric Litwin
Activity: We made Pete the Cat and the kids got to pick their own favorite shoes. We graphed our favorite shoes too and even went on a Pete the Cat Tour!
Day 5: Green Day
Story:
Go Away Big Green Monster by Ed Emberly
Activity: We made green monsters out of blobs of green paint and then scrap paper! They always turn out way fun, unique and original!
Story: Where is the Green Sheep by Mem Fox
Activity: The kids got to make their own background. This was a great way to encourage creativity and details! Then the kids cut and put together their sheep to glue on to their picture!
Day 6: Orange Day
Story:
The Big Orange Splot by Daniel Pinkwater
Activity: We made our own houses just like Mr. Plumbean in the story! Then magically we left the window open and when we came back from lunch our houses had orange splots on them! Did a seagull fly through our window with orange paint?!
Activity: Orange Surprise
I put a little yellow and red paint on a paper and the kids used their fingers to spread it around! What comes through? The color orange! They loved this!
Day 7: Purple Day
Song:
One Eyed, One Horned, Flying Purple People-Eater by Sheb Wooley
Activity: We sang the song a lot, made some movements to go along with it and then drew our own Purple People Eaters together step by step! So fun!

Day 8: Rainbow Day
Story:
Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister
Activity:The kids traced their rainbow fish and then water colored them! They turned out so pretty! Then afterwards, when the fish are dry the kids get to glue on their own shiny scale.
Activity:Magic Playdoh!
I made magic playdoh for the kids. It starts out white, then as the kids mold and knead the dough it turns a color right before their eyes! They LOVE this activity and are in awe!!
